I'm just a guy who has the privilege of working with an amazing team, where together we strive to provide the highest quality oral surgical care to patients, while offering a kind, positive, and welcoming family enviroment. Our days are not always easy. The path is not always clear. But several things are for certain: I treat everyone I meet with respect and professionalism. I know being kind is much more productive than being mean. Every day is a blessing. Teamwork makes the dream work. And I don't take anything for granted.
I respect that oral surgical procedures can be overwhelming and even scary to some. My team and I strive to connect with our patients on a personal level – making them feel comfortable and at home while under our care. Oral treatment decisions may affect patients on many levels: function, medical, aesthetic, financial, social, and psychological. I believe all patients should be empowered to understand all options before making an oral health decision.
Learning from our patients is our first step. My team and I are committed to connecting with the patient on a personal level to discover their goals, wants, and needs, as it pertains to their oral care. My team and I then educate patients so they can gain an accurate comprehension of their issues, as well as understand the implications of their decisions. From there, together, we develop a comprehensive treatment plan that is executed under the highest level of care.
I was born in a small country town in southern West Virgina. From there, I attended West Virginia University for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, Oral Surgery Internship, and Oral Surgery Residency Program.
I am Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified, as well as certified in the administration of anesthesia. I am a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
My wife, Alison, and I have two fur baby Weimaraners, Kela and Zuri. We were not blessed with children, but we are a very proud “Auntie" and Uncle Pete” to 14 nieces and nephews who melt our hearts and allow us to realize the important things in life. When I’m not playing Uncle Pete, I can likely be found hiking in the Carolina Mountains or fly fishing in a nearby lake or stream. My passion for fishing, and more specifically my admiration for the beauty of the Mahi Mahi, was the inspiration behind the practice colors and office apparel.
Alison and I are truly honored and excited to be part of this community. Our team is committed to building honest and real relationships on both a professional and personal level, one patient and friend at a time. We look forward to meeting you!
